Sharon Havelka was born in Memphis, and graduated with a BFA from Memphis College of Art in 1994. She received her registered nurse licensure in 2009, and currently works as an ICU RN at the Veterans Administration. She has a history of painting, mixed-media construction, woodworking, and bookmaking, but is currently focused on mixed-media quilting. She received an ArtsAccelerator Grant from ArtsMemphis in 2019, and her work has been exhibited in shows including the the Dixon Gallery’s Memphis 2021, Quilt National ’21, Art Quilt Elements, the 62nd Delta Exhibition, and SAQA 3D Expressions.
